Why choose Dr. Ende for hair restoration?
Dr. Ende gives each one of his patients excellent care and a natural result. Dr. Ende is one of the few surgeons in the northeastern United States who is double board certified in both Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology. He has performed literally thousands of successful surgical procedures on the face and scalp and insists on only performing one hair transplant procedure per day to ensure success and excellent patient care. While many hair transplant physicians don’t have a surgical background, Dr. Ende is not only a surgeon, but has taught surgery as a faculty member at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Ende has shared his vast experience as the author of many medical publications. In fact, the authoritative chapter on hair transplant surgery used in medical schools and residency programs to train surgeons was authored by Dr. Ende.

Do hair transplants look natural?
Your follicular unit hair transplants look completely natural. Even surgeons are often unable to tell the difference between a transplanted and non-transplanted hair after a procedure by Dr. Ende!

Use our “before and after” pictures to see the difference Dr. Ende offers. If you can notice that someone has had a procedure on their hair, it was probably not performed with the proper modern techniques. With Dr. Ende, you will end up with natural-looking hair, not “doll’s hair.”

Are hair transplants just for men?
Absolutely not! Dr. Ende performs many hair transplant procedures on women. Female hair loss is often different than male hair loss, but a hair transplant can often rejuvenate a female patient’s hairline just as easily.

How is a hair transplant performed?
Dr. Ende and his team gently remove hair follicles from the back and sides of the scalp. Then, the hairs are divided into follicular units under a high power microscope. Each hair unit is transplanted to a tiny slit with careful consideration to hair angle, direction, curl, and positioning. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and is virtually painless. There are no dressings or bandages to be managed. Most patients are so satisfied after this one day procedure they don’t require any further treatment. You can even return to work the next day!

Can hair be transplanted to other areas like eyebrows?
Eyebrow transplants have become quite popular in Dr. Ende’s practice. The procedures are performed the same way as any other hair transplant that. Patients who have lost eyebrow hair from plucking, scars, or most other reasons are all excellent candidates (even if they now have an eyebrow tattoo).

How long do hair transplants last?
Typically, transplanted hair lasts a lifetime. Most patients never lose the hair from the donor areas, and it will grow just like your natural hair in the transplanted area.

Will a hair transplant procedure hurt?
Dr. Ende’s goal is to keep you comfortable and relaxed during your procedure. An oral sedative will be administered along with local anesthesia. No IV. No breathing tube. You can relax, speak with the specialized hair technicians as Dr. Ende works and, if you need to, you can even take a break throughout the procedure to use the restroom or eat lunch! All of our patients are given a prescription for pain medication after the procedure. However, most patients only use this the first night, and many don’t use pain medication at all.
